Information

Welcome to the Cotswolds! We are Laura and Dries and run a small family business managing a select number of beautiful properties around this lovely area of the Cotswolds. With our love of interior design, we’re passionate about the detail. Smoke on the Water is a special place on the edge of Spring Lake just outside the Village of South Cerney. With over a hundred lakes in the area this lake provides water sking, wakeboarding and various inflatable rides. There are also many stunning walks with numerous wildlife right from the doorstep. Endless opportunities for the photo enthusiast. Owned by Richard & Kay, who have lovingly renovated the property recently. They are also the owners of the Lakeside Brasserie and the water sports connected to it. The surrounding area offers, birds, walks, wildflower meadows and you will find yourself surrounded by lakes and their activities, Beaches, water sports, swimming. Cirencester, the unofficial capital of the Cotswolds, itself is steeped in history as the Roman capital of England and often hosts lovely local produce markets. Eat, Drink & be Merry

In the first instance we would implore you make a reservation for whichever place you choose as it can get very busy especially at the Brasserie. The Brasserie located only a few steps outside the front door offers a fantastic range of food alongside a spectacular view of the lake. The Brasserie offers Breakfast lunch and dinner but could be closed in the colder months. In the village you will find The Old George has a good garden and is a lively place. The Bakers Arms in Somerford Keynes with a great garden and The Wheatsheaf at Oaksey. The Crown at Cerney Wick which recently reopened with lovely small plates. The Braai House Deli sits within the post office building in South Cerney. This is good for breakfast, coffees, and a treat from the bakery section. Waterside kitchen with Asian fusion food. The Potting Shed and The Rectory for something special in Crudwell. Pizzeria 720 and the gateway centre for great take away pizza, other food & cakes in the daytime. Beautiful Walks from here. In Cirencester Sam & Jak’s - New and very lovely. Tierra & Marr, Amazing Tapas. La Passione, new Italian. Cote Brasserie. - Great Breakfast and Fixed price menus. The Fleece hotel - Pretty good. The King’s Head has opened a new roof terrace. Teatro for something special and lovely garden terrace. Piazza Fontana, not the best interior but good Italian food. Somewhere Else are open for casual garden dining & cocktails. Sultan Indian for Eat in or take away. Indian Rasoi, for Eat in or take away. Parking directly behind in the Abbey Grounds car park. Takeaways South Cerney Fish & Chips Is very good. Most deliveries are available through one delivery www.one-delivery.co.uk Sultans, Indian Zen, Chinese Thai Emerald South Cerney Tandoori Balti house is ok and delivers. Jicsaw Thai In Cricklade is great and will deliver. Grocery Stores Co-Operative supermarket in South Cerney. Has everything. Small Village shop in Oaksey. No fresh produce. Waitrose in Cirencester Tesco, 2 in Cirencester. Market Garden in Cirencester has wonderful fresh fruit and veg. New Wave Fish, Fishmonger. Jesse Smith’s or Michael Harts Butchers. Knead Bakery is lovely. Halls Bakery.

Things to Do

Lakeside offers water sports consisting of water skiing, wakeboarding and several inflatable rides. Lower Moore Nature reserve is 300 acres of Flora, Fauna & wildlife. Places to Visit

Lower Moore Nature reserve on your doorstep is 300 acres of Flora, Fauna & wildlife. Cirencester is the Roman Capital of England and has a rich history. Local produce markets are often in the marketplace. Walk around the Abbey Grounds to the rear of the church. Also, up Cecily hill to Cirencester park, part of the Bathhurst estate. North Cerney House Gardens Oaksey Wood Malmesbury with its Abbey and old monastery. A pretty market town. Tetbury with plenty of old Cotswold buildings and Antiques. Highgrove shop. Minchinhampton Common is a wonderful area for amazing views and walks. Bibury is lovely and you can join the Fosseway A429 (old Roman Road) to Morton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the water for a nice day out. Just off the Fosseway are several picturesque villages such as Broadway and Chipping Campden. Bath is about 1 hour away but you can always take the train from Kemble station which does the journey in about 40 min. Visit the Roman Baths. Kemble station is about 10 min drive and has a direct line to London Paddington which takes around 1 hour and 15 min. Oxford is also about an hour by car with Burford village on the way which is well worth a stop.

 Pets Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this property. Rubbish & Recycling Mixed recycling, in the wheelie bin with a blue lid. Cardboard, plastic bottles & trays, Cans can also now go in here. Black Box for Glass. Household waste in the black wheelie bin. There is no charge for the breakfast items, and we hope you treat our place as a home from home.

Do’s & Don'ts

There are only a few items we would like your help with please…• Please do not put ANYTHING other than toilet paper down the loos. • Swimming is not permitted at any time especially when the boats are active. • Please leave the place as you found it and enjoy.
